Following up on their self titled, hugely successful and chart breaking debut record, released at the beginning of this unpredictable and ill fated year, Lancashire indie-pop outfit The Lottery Winners return in quick time, with a steadfast spirit on their latest offering – ‘Sounds of Isolation’.
Determined to take advantage of what was then and is still somewhat now a dire situation, and in spite of the numerous setbacks encountered by the foursome, including the cancellation of the bands headline performance at iconic Manchester venue the O2 Ritz, the group have continued to be creative, bringing music to their ever growing and adoring fan base.
Recorded responsibly over several, socially distanced locations across the Northwest of England, the eleven-track album consists of a compilation of world renowned tracks reworked by the Leigh born four piece, over the period of nationwide lockdown earlier in the year.
Originally showcased on the groups popular LWTV YouTube channel, which has seen guest appearances from the likes of Rick Astley and Tom Jones, the tracks performed by band members Robert Lally on guitar, bassist Katie Lloyd, Joe Singleton on drums and charismatic frontman Thom Rylance, have now been bundled together to commemorate the COVID-19 crisis and the resolve of the groups dedicated fans throughout.
Covers on the album, which is due for physical release on August 28th through illustrious indie label Modern Sky and available to listen to now on Spotify, include ‘Love will Tear us Apart’ from legendary Manchester act Joy Division, Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ and Marvin Gaye’s ‘I heard it through the Grapevine’ to name a few.
