The multi-platinum selling, soul singing, bearded megastar scooped his first (and undoubtedly not his last) Ivor Novello Award at this years rescheduled award ceremony.
Acknowledged by many within the industry as the pinnacle of achievement, the prestigious award has been celebrating the outstanding creative contributions of some of the UK’s finest singing and songwriting talents for the past 65 years.
Due to take place in May, the presentation event was unavoidably postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rearranged to return remotely at the beginning of September.
Each winner of the awards eight categories, including ‘Best Album’, ‘Best Contemporary Song’ and ‘Best Film Score’, were announced live on Matt Wilkinson’s Apple Music 1 Radio show on September 2nd 2020.
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man alongside world renowned producer and DJ Calvin Harris, and writers Jamie Hartman and Troy Miller, received the PRS award for ‘Most Performed Work’ on their collaborative track ‘Giant’. The track, released in January 2019, has sold more than two million copies and became the UK’s most played track throughout 2019, even though the single never reached the top of the charts.
Make you sure you catch the baritone legend at Highest Point 2021, on Saturday 15th May.
Tickets are now on sale at Skiddle.
