One of Britain’s most influential and accomplished house artists, prolific record producer and jet setting, superstar DJ, Richy Ahmed should be no stranger to fans of electronic music.
Born in South Shields in the North East of the UK, Richy, like most, started out on the dance floor as a fan and a raver. Inspired by his early experiences, the music, the atmosphere and most importantly the people, he started promoting his own events (something he still does today). It wasn’t until the aspiring DJ decided to turn his hand to production and the decks however, that his career really began to take off.
Taking cues from a range of genres, from techno to house, disco, funk and hip hop, Richy’s output is both unique and progressive, and contains the fundamentals which are essential to making the dance floor come alive (Listen to ‘The Drums’, you’ll get what we’re saying). It is for these reasons that this incomparable, master of the craft finds himself universally loved by his fans, his peers and his critics alike.
Throughout his career so far, he’s performed at some of the world’s most renowned clubs and festivals, from Berlin’s legendary Panorama bar to Mexico’s ten-day BPM festival, Glastonbury and Tomorrowland, taken up multiple residencies at clubs across Ibiza (being one of the original resident DJs of the infamous Paradise at DC10) and launched his very own imprint – Four Thirty Two Records (Andrea Fiorito, Jansons, Sam Holland, Senzala). He’s also featured in Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs on multiple occasions over the past few years. Not bad going at all!
Possessing a seemingly intrinsic ability to create entrancing, dancefloor dominating anthems, with a raw talent for mixing and an expert ear for discovering the next big thing, this time-honoured artist still continues to add value to his beloved scene, building upon his already impressive legacy.
Don’t miss your chance to see this bonafide legend of British house music at Highest Point 2021 on Friday 14th May, featuring on our Ibizan party right here in the heart of Williamson Park – Do Not Sleep.
