3rd – 4th September 2021

There are few who can say they’ve enjoyed such a quick rise to the top in the music business, the likes of which has been experienced by DJ and producer Josh Butler.

A relatively new face in the British house music scene, debuting back in 2013 with his breakout club track ‘Got a Feeling’, the Yorkshire born creative is being tipped by many to become one of this generations most influential and global dominating, superstar DJ names.

Compelled at a young age to follow his passion for music, Butler explored various production tools, including a dodgy copy of Playstation’s music game, before eventually creating his own material aged just 12 years old. A move out to New Zealand with his family helped the aspiring producer to develop his skills free of distraction, ahead of his return to England where he became at student at Leeds University.

A regular attendee of some of the city’s most favoured night time events and venues, Butler quickly established a romance with club culture. Mesmerised by the transcendent energy shared between the artist and the audience, his desire to follow a career as a DJ quickly began to take hold.

Years of hard work later, he’s now become one of the world’s most notable house music producers and performers, receiving widespread acclaim from critics and tastemakers alike.

He’s collaborated with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and multi-Grammy award winner Nile Rodgers, accepted multiple music industry awards from the likes of DJ Mag and Beatport, released a slew of successful tracks via numerous highly regarded imprints such as Roush, Cajual, Madtech, Avotre, VIVa and Noir, and performed infront of thousands at Glastonbury Festival, Defected Croatia and Parklife. And that’s not even the half of it.

On top of his hectic touring scheduling, which has seen the young producer jet setting off to destinations across Europe and Australia, Butler has somehow found the time to launch his own label – ORIGINS RCRDS. Championing the next genesis of dance artists, he’s brought together two eras of house, combining the talents of pioneers such as Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry and Robert Owens, with new, up and coming artists from the UK and beyond.

High profile names such as Kerri Chandler, Groove Armada, Richy Ahmed (also performing at Highest Point 2021) and Huxley are amongst some of the many other names who have chosen to release via the prominent label.

Do not miss your chance to witness this eminent ambassador of House music live at Highest Point 2021, on Friday 14th May.
