Graeme Park has been an influential figure within dance and club culture in the UK. He initially started out by working in a record store in Nottingham called Selectadisc during the 1980’s when genres such as house were starting to appear.
When the owner of the record store opened up a nightclub, Graeme was a natural choice to select the discs. It was where he began to show off his own style and started to put people onto house music in the UK. It was not too long until Manchester’s The Hacienda came calling.
After building up a strong reputation, he was initially brought in as cover for Mike Pickering who was away on holiday. This was the start of a 9-year residency that helped sculpt the legendary status of this iconic venue.
Graeme is a truly pioneering DJ and was the first to travel the world and take house music to the shores of places such as Australia, America and South America. More recently, he has been involved with the groundbreaking Hacienda Classical shows that have re-imagined and re-invigored classic tunes from the nightclub’s heyday.
